Current accounting packages now boast that their reports can be customized or new reports created by the end user. No longer do you have to go through a lengthy process to define and then program a report. Everyone in the company can have a different report if you wish. Either the package has report writing software or they can download blocks of data to a spreadsheet and let you do the manipulation. Why then aren’t we using them?
Most of the companies I have worked with don’t do a lot with Excel, let alone with their financial report writer. They work with their consultant to
